Small minds think alike, unfortunately. I’ve seen this in various towns in Louisiana. If you’re driven and enthusiastic, you’re likely to be seen as a “threat” to someone who’s not secure in their job. What’s worse is that when you do excel at your work, you “make others look bad” or “aren’t getting along well with others”. People in supervisory positions discourage employees from exceeding expectations b/c it sets the bar too high for others. I hate this mindset.
